The Yampa River Dashboard is a new information hub that gathers historic, current, and forecasted data specific to the Yampa River Basin from multiple sources using a curated collection of easy-to-use data tools based on user interest.
Colorado Decision Support Systems
Colorado’s Decision Support Systems (CDSS) is a water management tool developed by the Colorado Water Conservation Board and the Colorado Division of Water Resources. The goal of this system is to assist in making informed decisions regarding historic and future use of water.
Potential Yampa River Over-Appropriation Designation
On March 17, 2021, Division Engineer Erin Light submitted her final report to the State Engineer requesting designation of the Yampa River as over-appropriated. You can view the full report and access a video on over-appropriation from the Division of Water Resources at the link above.
Water Resources Archive
The Colorado State University Water Resources Archive is a joint effort of the University Libraries and the Colorado Water Institute. Formally begun in 2001, the Archive consists of collections from individuals and organizations that have been instrumental in the development of water resources in Colorado and the West.

Stagecoach State Park
Stagecoach State Park sets the stage for great recreation in the lush Yampa River Basin by Steamboat Springs. Vistas and views are backdrops to the 780-acre reservoir providing renown lake and river fishing.
Colorado Water Conservation Board
Since 1973, the CWCB has appropriated instream flow water rights on over 1,400 stream segments covering over 8,500 miles of stream and 477 natural lakes, and completed over 20 voluntary water acquisition transactions. The Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) represents each major water basin, Denver and other state agencies in our joint effort to use water wisely and protect our water for future generations.
The Colorado Water Trust
The Colorado Water Trust is a private, non-profit organization that engages in and supports voluntary efforts to restore and protect streamflows in the state of Colorado. These efforts include permanent acquisitions of water, leases of water, and physical solutions that achieve water conservation benefits.
Colorado Watershed Assembly
The Colorado Watershed Assembly is a coalition of local citizen watershed groups that networks information and resources from government agencies to communities so that local efforts are focused on local initiatives.
Colorado Water Congress
The Colorado Water Congress promotes the wise management and stewardship of the State’s water resources for the benefit of Colorado’s present and future generations.
Water Education Colorado
Water Education Colorado informs Coloradans on water issues and promotes public engagement through education and leadership programs, publications, and events.
Colorado River District
The Colorado River Water Conservation District is a public water policy agency chartered by the Colorado General Assembly in 1937 to be “the appropriate agency for the conservation, use and development of the water resources of the Colorado River and its principal tributaries in Colorado.”

Colorado Watershed Restoration Grants
Offered through CWCB, for projects in watershed conservation, infrastructure, restoration, and water quality. Available to private organizations such as mutual ditch companies, non-profits, and partnerships.
Nonpoint-Source Funding
Offered through CDPHE, for projects in water quality, specifically parties who have be impacted by nonpoint source pollution. Available to individual landowners/businesses and private organizations such as mutual ditch companies, non-profits, and partnerships.

Offered through CDPHE, for projects in water quality and infrastructure. Available to individual landowners/businesses.
